Jhapa's senior journalist Chandra Bhandari has been feted with 'outstanding citizen honour' today in recognition of his contributions to the movement of civil freedom through the medium of journalism.
Managing Director of Kanchanjunga FM and former central general secretary of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Bhandari was jailed or 10 years in the movement for the establishment of democracy.
He had served several responsibilities including as as the central chairperson of ANNIFSU and first people-elected deputy mayor of Mechinagar municipality.
Jhapa's outstanding citizen honour' was conferred on senior journalist Bhandari recognizing his contributions to democracy, press freedom and citizen liberties, shared honour selection committee's coordinator and Anarmani Public Campus chief Mohan Shivakoti.
Former Executive Chief of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Kulman Ghising handed over the letter of appreciation to Bhandari amidst a special ceremony at Birtamodh. ---
