Seven arrested on Rato Machchhindranath chariot dispute released

Seven persons who were arrested last Thursday in a clash with the police over Rato Machchhindranath chariot have been released on Monday. Of them, six have tested positive for coronavirus while next was found suffering from mental illness and was released with priority for treatment.

Three others were released on Sunday from Metropolitan Police Range.

Spokesperson of Metropolitan Police Range Santosh Tamang confirmed that 10 persons out of 20 arrested on September 3 have been released today. He added that police have lodged case against 17 out of those arrestees.

The police said that 10 others are still in custody.

Meanwhile, some individuals protested in front of the District Administration Office in Laliptur demanding the release of all those arrested.
