CPN (Maoist Center)'s Dirgharaj Shrestha's candidacy for the post of Deputy Mayor of Kamalamai Municipality has been annulled. His candidacy was canceled as he was on the closed list of the proportional representation (PR) election system.
Shrestha had filed his nominations for the post of deputy Mayor on Monday on behalf of the ruling alliance. Chief Election Officer Dhruva Prasad Sapkota issued a notice on Tuesday stating that the registration could not be entered in the software of the Election Commission.
Similarly, the nominations of six ward members including two ward chairpersons of Rastriya Prajatantra Party and one ward member of Nepali Congress have not been accepted due to various reasons.
