Single day highest spike of coronavirus, COVID-19 hospital to remain open during festival

The government recorded a total of 5,743 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The Ministry of Health and Population shared the information adding that 2,996 infected persons recovered their normal health during the same period.

So far, the number of people getting recovery so far has reached 99,605.

Ministry Spokesperson Dr Gageshwor Gautam informed that among the infected ones, 3,107 are from the Kathmandu Valley. Among them, 2,391 are from Kathmandu, 173 from Bhaktapur and 543 from Lalitpur. Currently, there are 4,065 staying in quarantine.

A total of 20,118 persons were undergone PCR tests in the last 24 hours. More than 1.3 million people have undergone the RT PCR so far.

Mustang is the district with zero infection.

The Spokesperson further urged media not to disseminate information on ministry decision in a misleading way. He shared that the COVID-19 hospital would remain open even during Dashain festival.

Twenty six persons died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry.
