The process of collecting solid waste in Kathmandu valley will resume from tomorrow. The stranded process of collecting and managing the wastages would be made regular after concerned authorities agreed to undergo COVID-19 test for the locals of Sisdol.
Sisdol is the major landfill site for solid waste collected from Kathmandu Valley. The local folks had obstructed the process after demanding for their health check-up and test for COVID-19 owing possible threat of COVID-19 outbreak.
Kathmandu Metropolitan City mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya and Kakani Rural Municipality elected representatives forged an agreement to resume the halted process today.
With the agreement KMC will arrange necessary management for COVID-19 test of the locals in Sidol. As per the agreement, the disposal of solid waste will take place at the site from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am every day.
