Chief of State no 1, Somnath Adhikari Pyasi has said the present constitution of Nepal is the first and latest constitution in the world that has been drafted going to the people.
He said this in a message of best wishes he gave on the occasion of the Constitution Day today. The state Chief said that the constitution also embodies the sovereignty of the people, internalises autonomy and self-governance by keeping intact national integrity, independence and self-esteem.
State 1 Chief Pyasi described the constitution as the outcome of the struggle and sacrifices of the people by means of the historic people's movement and the armed struggle. He said that this charter is also the basis of political stability, sustainable peace and good governance. The State Chief has underscored the need of materializing the letter and spirit of the constitution while appealing to all to be dedicated to institutionalising the federal democratic republic and protecting the constitution.
Constitution, founding pillar of nation building: Chief Minister Rai
Meanwhile, chief Minister of State no 1, Sherdhan Rai said the constitution is not only the medium that tied the people of all castes, linguistic communities, religions, culture, gender, race and geography in a bond of unity but also the foundation pillar of nation building.
He said this in a message of best wishes he gave on the occasion of the Constitution Day today. The Chief Minister said the constitution of the federal democratic republic Nepal is also a document that internalised the aspirations and expectations of the people as it guarantees an array of rights including the fundamental rights of the citizen along with social justice.
Stating that the government of State 1 is working towards securing the national goal of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali', he said it was also moving ahead with the state's own main slogan of 'Clean, Happy and Prosperous' province to make the national goal successful.
