The Governor of Shaanxi Province of the People's Republic of China H. E. Mr. Liu Gouzhong called on the Rt. Honorable President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari in Xi'an today. Various aspects of bilateral relations were discussed during the callon. Promoting cooperation between Nepal and Shaanxi Province, particularly in the fields of culture, education, tourism, investment and peopletopeople contacts figured prominently during the meeting. They also discussed the promotion of sister relationship between various cities in both the countries. Following the meeting, the Governor hosted a banquet luncheon in honor of the President and the Nepali delegation.
Earlier in the morning, Rt. Honorable President visited the historic Da Ci'en Temple, which has historic links with Lumbini, the birthplace of Shakyamuni Buddha. In the afternoon before leaving for Beijing, she visited the worldfamous Terracotta Warriors Museum. The President was briefed about the historic significance and current status of both places.
Hon. Foreign Minister Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Chief Minister of Province 3 Hon. Mr. Dormani Poudel, Hon. Members of the Federal Parliament, highranking government officials, Ambassador of China to Nepal and Ambassador of Nepal to China were present during the events.
Rt. Honorable President and the entourage members arrived in Beijing later this evening. Upon arrival at the Beijing Capital International Airport, the President was received by Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs H. E. Mr. Kong Xuanyou, Ambassador of China to Nepal, and Ambassador of Nepal to China and other officials of the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.
The Rt. Honorable President will attend the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation to be held in Beijing tomorrow. She will also deliver a speech at the Forum, and attend the banquet hosted by President H. E. Mr. Xi Jinping in the evening tomorrow.
