BANGKOK, Rescue divers have safely brought out the ninth "Wild Boar" from the Tham Luang flooded cave in Mae Sai, Chiang Rai in northern Thailand, confirmed the authorities.

The Royal Thai Navy SEAL unit in its Facebook posting said, the ninth unidentified boy was taken out from the cave at 4.06pm (local time), becoming the first of five still trapped victims of "Mu Pa" (Wild Boar) football to be rescued today.

"The ninth Wild Boar was out of the cave at 4.06pm. Hooyah!", said the elite unit today. The ninth boy will be taken to a medical tent near the entrance of the cave for checkup before being airlifted to Chiang Rai's Prachanukroh Hospital.

The media have also reported the tenth boy has also been extricated from Tham Luang cave and is now receiving medical attention, but no official confirmation of the latest development has been received as yet.

Earlier, former Chiang Rai governor Narongsak Ossotanakorn in his daily media briefing in Chiang Rai today said rescuers had begun their final push to rescue the last five victims still stranded inside the flooded cave at about 10am (local time) today.

In a daring operation on Sunday and yesterday, rescuers safely brought out eight boys who had been trapped inside the cave since July 23.
