Three dead in separate incidents in Salyan

Two including a driver are the victims of an excavator accident occurred today at Bagchaur municipality-6, police said. The deceased have been identified as driver Devraj Khatri,33, from Hapur of Babai rural municipality-4 in Dang and Chitra Bahadur BK, 18, of Chhatreshwori rural municipality-1, Salyan. One person has been injured in the accident. The excavator (Ra 1 Ka 719) met with the accident in course of widening the Maidhole-Jamunechaur road section at Bagchaur.

Khatri died on the spot while his assistant BK breathed his last in course of treatment at the Salyan Hospital. Injured Dhan Bahadur Oli is out of a life-threatening condition, the District Police Office, Salyan said.

Meanwhile, a teacher died after falling off a cliff. Shapta Prakash Malla, 54, of Damra rural municipality-4 fell off the cliff as he was on the way back home after attending a wedding party.

Malla left home yesterday for the marriage party, but did not return home till this morning, prompting a search for him by the family who later recovered his lifeless body. He was a teacher at a local secondary school.

The body has been sent to the Salyan Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
