Three persons have died of COVID-19 in Butwal today. Two of them died at the corona special hospital in Butwal and one on the way to the corona special hospital in Dang district, said Dr Bishnu Gautam, Information Officer at Lumbini Provincial Hospital.
One of the deceased, an 84-year-old man of Butwal-11, needed intensive care unit service after his health worsened. But the hospital in Butwal lacked ICU at that time. As a result, the man died on the way to the corona special hospital, Dang, said Gautam.
The man was suffering from a heart problem for long. Likewise, other deceased included a 61-year-old woman of Butwal-11 and a 70-year-old man of Butwal-1.
