The Tinau rural municipality in Palpa is to be developed into a 'pocket area' for livestock keeping.
Rural municipality chair Om Bahadur Gharti said the livestock promotion was the priority of the local government and works had already begun to construct a building for a livestock service office here at the cost of Rs 150 million.
The local government has the financial support from the federal government for the building construction. We aim to make the rural municipality self-sufficient on milk production, he said. At present there are over 20 cow farms in the village.
As said by Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Expert Center Palpa's Bishwanath Bhattarai, Tinau has been identified as a suitable zone for livestock farming and it has been recommended as the site for establishing the sole Livestock Service Office of the entire district
