Traffic police collects 4 million in revenue

The District Traffic Police Office, Khotang, has collected almost 4 million rupees in revenue till the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

The revenue amount was collected from the drivers for the traffic rules violations.

During the period, a total of 5,401 vehicles were fined for traffic rules violations, Chief of the District Traffic Police Office Dal Bahadur Khatri said.

According to traffic police, the drivers were fined for drunk drive, driving without license, high speed and other traffic rules violations.

Likewise, police said 19 road accidents took place in the district during the review period, taking lives of five people and injuring 23 others.

Khatri said most of the road accidents occurred scree the traffic rules violations.
