Transport along the Prithvi Highway has resumed Friday after the repair of the damaged road section. The highway was disrupted following the damages caused by landslides and floods triggered by the incessant rainfall.

The major damage had occurred at Maukhola of Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-19 along the highway.

The damaged section was reconstructed with the help of Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and employees of the Road Department.

With the construction of gabion wall, light vehicles can pass on the road now, said Rupak Khadka, Information Officer at District Police Office, Dhading. He added that after leveling the surface, even the heavy vehicles can be operated, but for temporarily.

Chief District Officer in Dhading, Asman Tamang, also said it would take some more days for smooth operation of the vehicles.
