Two separate teams along with an ambulance have headed to Dhulikhel Hospital in Kavrepalanchok district to manage the body of a woman who died at the hospital. The teams left for the district at 7:30 pm on Saturday evening. The ambulance that was sent along with the teams was prepared by the Birdal battalion of Nepalese Army, Suryabinayak to carry corpse of coronavirus infected people.
The two teams include a security team including Superintendent of Police Sabin Pradhan at the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, Colonel Shiva Poudel, head of Birdal battalion of Nepalese Army and a team including Arun Sainju and Rajesh Gaiju.
According to the teams, a box wrapped in plastic sheets has been placed inside the ambulance and the box would be covered after putting in the corpse of the woman. Last rites of the deceased would be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat, where the corpse would be cremated in an electric crematorium. The team of Saiju and Gaiju will do all work relating to the cremation of the corpse of the woman.
The plastic sheets wrapping the corpse would be dumped and the ambulance would be disinfected after unloading the corpse. The new mother, 29, of Barhabise in Sindhupalchok died on Thursday night. She was having respiration problems. She tested positive for COVID-19.
