UML candidates win Diprung Chuichumma

CPN (UML) candidates have been elected chairperson and vice-chairperson of Diprung Chuichumma rural municipality in Khotang district.

Lokendra Rai has been elected chairperson with 2,803 votes defeating his closest rival Nepali Congress (NC)’s Naindra Rai who got 2,162.

Similarly, Aruna Thapa Magar has been elected vice-chairperson with 2,733 votes. Her nearest competitor Nepali Congress’s Rama Katwal garnered 2,312 votes, according to Returning Officer, Gambhir Ghimire.

In the rural municipality having seven wards, CPN (UML) candidates won in 4 wards and Nepali Congress in 3.
