Vice-President Pun urges governments to place emphasis on sports sector

Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun has suggested the governments of the three tiers to put sports sector in their area of priority.

He said this while inaugurating the grand sports festival organized by the District Coordination Committee and District Sports Development Committee at the regional stadium in Panauti, Kavre on Friday.

"Infrastructure development is the first condition of sports development. But, the state investment has not increased for infrastructure development as anticipated. Hence, all layers of the governments need to place emphasis on sports sector".

The Vice-President also complained that the athletes of different sports genres are being compelled to practice and compete in weak infrastructures.
