Writ filed calling cancellation of the decision to nominate Gautam

Web Desk September 21, 2020     No Comment     General

A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court today, calling for repeal of the decision of the President to nominate Nepal Communist Party Vice-chair Bamdev Gautam to the National Assembly. Advocate Dinesh Tripathi has filed the writ by naming the Office of the President, Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers as the defendants.

In the petition, Tripathi argues that the nomination is unconstitutional and demands an interim order to stop Gautam from working as an MP and becoming a member of the cabinet. A preliminary hearing on the petition is scheduled for coming September 23.
