Kathmandu: A 100-member team of Chinese photographers has arrived in Nepal to showcase the country’s culture, heritage, and tourism. The team landed on Monday as part of the ‘Lens on Nepal 100 Chinese Photographers’ programme, which is jointly organized by the China Nepal Friendship Forum, Nepal Tourism Board, and the National Forum of Photo Journalists (NFPJ).
According to National News Agency Nepal, the event marks a significant opportunity for promoting tourism in Nepal. Lawmaker Urmila Majhi and Nepal Tourism Board Manager Surya Thapaliya welcomed the team, emphasizing the visit as an important achievement for tourism promotion. The welcoming ceremony featured a performance by the musical group Sukarma.
The Chinese photographers’ visit is organized to commemorate the Visit Nepal Year 2025 and the 70th anniversary of Nepal-China diplomatic relations. Forum coordinator Dr. Kalyan Raj Sharma highlighted that the event offers an essential opportunity for tourism promotion in Nepal. The photographers are set to explore various touristic, cultural, and historical sites, capturing Nepal’s natural beauty and cultural heritage to share globally.
The initiative aims to strengthen Nepal-China relations while elevating Nepal’s tourism sector. Through their photographic journey, the Chinese photographers will promote Nepal’s culture, lifestyle, and traditional heritage worldwide, contributing to the country’s tourism development.
