Sunbury: As many as 10,000 people observed the 16th Nepal fair held in the United Kingdom. The Tamu Dhi UK, in collaboration with the Nepali Embassy in London, organized the event at Kempton Park in Sunbury, UK.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the fair that concluded on Sunday featured 40 entries from various ethnic groups showcasing Nepali fundamental values. In the cultural procession competition, the Magar Association UK secured the first place. The Pasa Puch Guthi UK came second, while Kirat Yakthum Chumlung UK achieved third place, as shared by festival communications coordinator SK Gurung.
Among 25 organizations participating in the traditional cultural dance competition, Pasa Puch Guthi UK emerged as the winner, with the Tanahun Society UK coming second and Kirat Yakthum Chumlung third. Pasa Puch Guthi UK also won the Eswadder Cup organized at the fair, while Kirat Yakthum Chumlung UK took second and Kirat Rai Yayokhya UK secured third position.
Inaugurating the event, Ambassador of Nepal to the UK, Chandra Kumar Ghimire, commended the Nepalis for playing a crucial role in preserving Nepali values outside their motherland. On behalf of the event coordination committee, Tamu Dhi UK chairperson, Jumkaji Gurung, extended gratitude to all the visitors of the fair.
