13 High-Performing Local Governments of Kavre Honoured


Kavre: The 13 local governments of Kavre district with high performance were honoured. The local governments were honoured amidst the 8th assembly and progress review programme of the District Coordination Committee for the fiscal year 2081/82.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Mahabharat Municipality was feted for maintaining zero arrears in the current fiscal year. Banepa Municipality was recognized for leading the district in the assessment by the National Natural Resource and Fiscal Commission. Khanikhola secured the top position among rural municipalities in the district, while Namobuddha excelled among municipalities in the Local Infrastructure and Social Accountability (LISA) assessment.

Dhulikhel Municipality was honoured for successfully declaring itself a health municipality, and Bethanchok Municipality was acknowledged for its exemplary disaster relief and rescue efforts. Rosi Municipality received accolades for outstanding governance in local government financial management. Bhumlun was r
ecognized for being declared a forest fire-free municipality, and Mandandeupur for having the lowest unemployment rate among municipalities. Panauti Municipality was praised for its excellence in livestock insurance programs.

Temal Municipality earned recognition for its work in combating non-communicable diseases, Panchkhal Municipality for increasing income levels, and Chaurideurali Municipality for its exceptional work in distributing social security allowances.

Additionally, Kathmandu University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Achyut Wagley, District Disaster Management Officer Komal Shah, officials from the Armed Police Force 15 Battalion, Shrimayor Battalion, and heads of national security agencies, including the National Investigation, were also honoured during the event. The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Kavrepalanchok chapter was recognized for its vital role in disseminating information during disasters.
