1,723 New Business Entities Registered on Wednesday at NBR’s IVAS


Dhaka: A record number of 1,723 new business entities completed their registration on Wednesday at the Integrated VAT Administration System (IVAS) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR).



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, out of the 1,723 registrations, 46 were categorized under manufacturing, 862 as service recipients, 500 as retailers and wholesalers, 29 as importers, 9 as exporters, and 277 were classified as other organizations, as stated in a press release issued by the NBR today.



On the same day, 579 business entities from the Chattogram Commissionerate registered at IVAS, while 180 registrations were recorded in the Dhaka (North) Commissionerate, 266 in the Dhaka (West) Commissionerate, 195 in the Khulna Commissionerate, 50 in the Rajshahi Commissionerate, 47 in the Jessore Commissionerate, 41 in the Rangpur Commissionerate, 27 in the Comilla Commissionerate, and 71 in the Dhaka (South) Commissionerate.



Prior to this achievement, the NBR had declared February as the registration month for commissioners, with March designated as the VAT registration month for the NBR. In alignment with this initiative, instructions were given on Wednesday by the member (VAT Implementation and IT) to representatives of significant platforms such as iBAS++, iVAS, and Genex, along with all officials involved in VAT implementation, to maintain their involvement, connection, and coordination.
