Members of Rapid Action Battalion(RAB) in an
overnight drive arrested three drug peddlers including a woman and seized a
huge amount of Buprenorphine injection, usually used as pain killer, from
Akkelpur railway station area here last night.
The arrested were identified as Manik, 28, Shahin Alam, 29, and Afroza Begum,
45.
Being informed, a team of the RAB-5 conducted an anti-drug operation in the
area around 11.30 pm and nabbed the drug peddlers with the contraband drugs.
During the drive, the team seized a total of 2,235 pieces of Buprenorphine
injection after searching two travel bags and a vanity bag at their
possession, the RAB-5 camp sources confirmed.
A case was filed with Santahar Railway Police Station in this connection.
