Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has evacuated 393 people at risk of flood to safe locations. These people were at risk of flood as they had been residing near the bank of rivers in the metropolis.
According to National News Agency Nepal, KMC Mayor Balendra Shah stated that these individuals have been relocated to four schools. Specifically, 70 people have been evacuated to Vishwa Niketan Secondary School, Tripureshwar, 52 people to Guheshwari Secondary School, 251 people belonging to 52 families to Jana Bikas Secondary School Kuleshwar, and 20 people to Mahendra Saraswati Basic School at Teku.
The Education Section of KMC has indicated that urgent shelter can be managed at 70 schools within the metropolis. KMC is providing food and accommodation to those who have been rescued.
