5 Arrested in Habiganj for Involvement in BNP Leader’s Murder


Habiganj: Police today arrested five people from the Sundarpur area under Madhabpur upazila for their alleged involvement in the killing of BNP leader Mohsin Mia. The arrestees are Faisal Mia, son of Jamir Ali of Bakharnagar village; Rubel Ahmed Roni, 26, son of Shah Alam Mia of Mankipur village; Joynal Mia, son of Achddor Ali; Jalal Mia, 32, son of Dubai Mia of Sundarpur village in Madhabpur upazila; and Ruhul Amin, 24, son of Idris Ali of Ulukandi village in Chunarughat upazila.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a house in the area and arrested them. The arrest is linked to an incident on February 3, when a gang of robbers attacked two BNP leaders on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway, resulting in the death of BNP leader Mohsin Mia.



On February 5, police initiated a case regarding the incident, which has now led to these arrests. The investigation continues as authorities seek justice for the slain leader.
