Pokhara: The third edition of the Enduro International Mountain Bike Competition is set to take place in Pokhara from November 13 to November 15. The event will be hosted at the Arba-Bijay hill in Pokhara metropolitan city-13, which sits at an altitude of 1,360 meters. Organizers, Dawn ’til Dusk, Mountain Bike Company, have confirmed that all preparations for the competition have been completed.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the race director, Sunil Chandra Sharma, announced that 50 riders from eight countries, including Nepal, Germany, Singapore, Australia, the UK, Sri Lanka, Oman, and the US, will participate in the competition. Originally, 13 countries had registered to compete, but five countries withdrew following Gen Z protests in Nepal.
The competition will feature six categories across six tracks: Men Junior (12-18 years), Women Open (18 years and above), Elite (above 29 years), Master ‘A’ (30-39 years), Masters ‘B’ (40-49 years), and Veteran (above 50 years). Sharma, the coordinator of the competition, expressed that the Enduro Bike Championship is anticipated to boost Nepal’s tourism by drawing numerous mountain bike enthusiasts from around the world.
