Myagdi: A total of 62 inmates who escaped from Myagdi jail last week have returned. They had fled after breaking the jail on September 10.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Police Inspector of the District Police Office, Myagdi, Sagar Paudel, informed that all the inmates except 14 have so far returned to jail. The police arrested them and brought them back to the prison.
Meanwhile, a police team has been mobilized to search for the remaining escaped inmates. The police also apprehended three other prisoners who had fled from Kathmandu and Kaski.
Police Inspector Paudel also reported that five persons who assisted the prisoners in escaping from the jail have been arrested. Charges have been filed against them under the Prison Act, 2079.
