Goplaganj: An enquiry committee has been formed to investigate the attack on two student coordinators at Gopalganj Science and Technology University. The seven-member committee, headed by Engineering Faculty Dean Abdullah Al Asad, has been tasked with submitting a report within three working days.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the University’s Sheikh Russel Hall Provost, Md Sahab Uddin, has been appointed as the member secretary of the committee. The other five members include Chairman of the History Department Atiquzzaman Bhuiyan, Associate Professor of the Management Studies Department Md Shamsul Arefin, Assistant Proctors Irin Parvin and Md Asif Khadel, and Deputy Director of the Student Advisory Department Whidul Islam Ratul.
The attack, allegedly carried out by members of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), left two student coordinators injured at Gopalganj Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) on Saturday. The injured coordinators are Jashim, a student of the Agriculture Science Department, and Omar Sharif of the Physics Department. They were actively involved as student coordinators during the anti-discrimination students-people uprising.
Additionally, two reporters, Russel Hossain and Atiq Faisal, were injured while performing their duties during the incident.
