Raghuganga: The 48.5-MW Upper Rahughat Hydropower Project, under construction on the Rahuganga River, is in its final phase. This significant development aims to enhance the region’s energy supply and is a crucial step towards meeting local energy demands.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the project features a 4,900-metre-long tunnel, with a dam located in Raghuganga rural municipality-7 at Chimkhola, and a power house in ward-4, Dagnam. Engineer Narottam Karki, associated with the project, reported that the construction of the power house, dam, tunnel, and transmission line is nearing completion.
Karki indicated that the project’s physical progress is approximately 85 percent complete. The target is to begin generating electricity by June 2025, and efforts are fully underway to meet this deadline.
