Nepalgunj: The Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City has taken proactive steps to address the potential outbreak of dengue fever, recognizing the high risk it poses to the area. Currently, the city accounts for 195 of the 348 dengue cases reported in the Banke district, as stated by Ram Bahadur Chand, Chief of the Health Division at the Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City.
According to National News Agency Nepal, a targeted “search and destroy” campaign has been implemented to eliminate mosquito larvae and breeding sites across the city’s wards. Chand confirmed that this initiative is active in all 23 wards, focusing on clearing water pools, ditches, and other mosquito breeding areas to prevent the spread of dengue.
Mayor Prashant Bista indicated that the campaign has been prioritized in the Buspark area, identified as a potential epicenter for the dengue outbreak. This strategic start aims to curb the spread of the disease by addressing high-risk areas first.
