DPM Paudel Returns Home After Attending WB Groups, IMF Meetings in US.


Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has returned to Kathmandu today, concluding his visit to the USA after attending the annual meetings of the World Bank Groups and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to National News Agency Nepal, Revenue Secretary Dinesh Kumar Ghimire welcomed the Deputy Prime Minister at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). During the meetings, Finance Minister Paudel emphasized the need for the global climate funds to be more simplified and accessible.

Moreover, Minister Paudel called upon development partners and the international community to be more responsible and sensitive to climate justice. He also advocated for the effective operation of the loss and damage fund. Paudel mentioned at TIA that the international community responded positively to the concerns raised by Nepal.

During his stay in the USA, DPM Paudel held separate meetings with high-level officials from the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and the Internat
ional Finance Corporation. He also engaged in several other multilateral and bilateral meetings. Minister Paudel had departed for the USA on October 21.
