Rasuwa: One among two foreign tourists missing in course of mountain climbing has come in contact. A 50-year-old person from Czech Republic came in contact at Hire Guesthouse in Langtang, according to a tourism entrepreneur. Chief of District Police Office in Rasuwa, Keshav Bhattarai, confirmed the tourist’s contact to a local hotelier.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Czech Republican tourist, along with another 34-year-old Slovakian national, had gone to Yala Peak (7,234 meters) of Gosaikunda rural municipality-3 in Rasuwa district. They had embarked on their expedition through Kathmandu Trekking Company, Thamel two weeks ago. However, the Slovakian trekking companion remains out of contact.
Search operations were conducted via air for two days, Friday and Saturday. Senior pilot of Altitude Air, Captain Bibek Khadka, reported that the trekkers had informed that the Slovakian climber fell into a gorge over 30 meters deep in the high hill. Captain Khadka further noted that although an all-out effort was made via helicopter on Friday, adverse weather significantly hindered the search and rescue operation. The sleeping bag was spotted during the search on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, a 43-year-old German national has been airlifted to Kathmandu after being found stranded due to a leg injury on the Gosaikunda trek.
