Kathmandu: Shmulik Arie Bass, Israel’s newly-appointed ambassador to Nepal, has arrived in Kathmandu to assume his office. In a warm reception at the VIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport, Bass was welcomed by Lekhnath Gautam, Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Janan Bebar, Charge d’ Affaires at the Embassy of Israel to Nepal.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the arrival of Ambassador Designate Bass marks a continuation of the long-standing diplomatic relationship between Nepal and Israel, which was formally established on June 1, 1960. This relationship began during the tenure of Nepal’s first people-elected Prime Minister, Bishweshwor Prasad Koirala, signifying over six decades of bilateral ties and cooperation.
