KATHMANDU: The CPN (UML) has revealed its candidates for the upcoming local level by-election, scheduled for next month. The announcement includes a candidate for the mayoral post as well as candidates for two ward chairperson positions.
According to National News Agency Nepal, UML’s municipal committee recently recommended Dr. Surendra Manandhar as the candidate for mayor of Kirtipur municipality. Harsha Man Maharjan and Badri Budhathoki have been selected as the unopposed candidates for the chairperson positions of ward numbers 1 and 4, respectively.
During a program organized to announce the candidacy, Dr. Manandhar emphasized the importance of people’s representatives acting in accordance with the sentiments of the Kirtipur residents. UML Standing Committee member Rajan Bhattarai and other party leaders highlighted the need for representatives to engage with the community and perform their duties with dedication.
