Pokhara: The second edition of the Enduro International Mountain Bike Race began in Pokhara from today. The competition, held in Arwavijaya village of Pokhara Metropolitan City-13, will run until November 29. Director of the competition, Sunil Chandra Sharma, announced that 59 cyclists from 13 countries, including Nepal, are participating in the race.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister of Social Development, Youth and Sports of Gandaki Province, Bindu Kumar Thapa, inaugurated the competition. Minister Thapa remarked that adventure sports like the Pokhara Enduro Race will contribute significantly to Pokhara’s tourism industry and the national economy.
Ward president Kiran Baral highlighted that the mountain bike competition, held at Arwa-Vijaydanda, which is 1,400 meters above sea level, will bolster tourism in Pokhara. The event is seen as a catalyst to attract more visitors to the region, showcasing its potential as a hub for adventure tourism.
