Municipality Issues 35-Day Ultimatum to Entrepreneurs to Manage Lead Waste.


Diktel: Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi municipality has issued an ultimatum to entrepreneurs to manage or dispose of lead waste discarded haphazardly within the municipality. They have been given 35 days to comply.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the 35-day ultimatum will be effective from December 29, emphasizing the urgent need to address the environmental impact caused by improper lead waste disposal. Mayor Tirth Raj Bhattarai stated that the directive aligns with the municipality’s policy and program, which mandates that individuals, shopkeepers, companies, and wholesalers are responsible for managing their own lead waste.

The municipality has repeatedly requested entrepreneurs to take responsibility for managing lead waste. The latest directive warns of potential action against those who fail to comply, underscoring the seriousness of the issue.
