Kathmandu: Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Paudel has stressed the importance of awareness campaigns in controlling HIV/AIDS. He made these remarks during a program organized by the National Human Rights Commission to publicize the ‘Human Rights Situation Study Report 2081 BS of HIV-AIDS-infected Citizens’ on the occasion of World AIDS Day.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Paudel highlighted the need for increased awareness to address the ongoing discrimination against individuals infected with HIV/AIDS. He pointed out that the lack of awareness contributes significantly to the spread of the infection and the social stigma faced by those affected. The Health Ministry, he assured, is committed to supporting initiatives aimed at the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS.
