Meherpur: A student was killed and his uncle injured as a truck hit their motorbike at Abubpur under Gangni upazila of the district this afternoon. The deceased was Md. Taimuzzaman, 09, a second-grade student of Mission Primary School and son of Md. Maharuzzaman, resident of Stadium Para in the district town.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident took place on the Meherpur-Kushtia road when a brick-laden truck hit a motorcycle from behind, leaving its two riders injured, said Bani Israel, officer-in-charge of Gangni Police Station. The injured were taken to Mirpur 50-bed Health Complex in Kushtia, where the on-duty doctor declared Taimuzzaman dead.
Necessary legal action will be taken based on the complaint of the deceased’s family, the OC said.
