Countrymen Want Fair Polls After Minimum Reforms: Manna

Bogura: President of Nagorik Oikya Mahmudur Rahman Manna has stated that the citizens of the country are seeking a fair election following minimum reforms. He made this assertion during a conference with the activists of the Nagorik Oikya Bogura district unit at the Satmatha intersection in the town.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Manna emphasized the public’s desire for a free, fair, and credible election process to establish a competent government. He highlighted the significance of voting as a “priceless asset” and encouraged everyone to refrain from voting for individuals with corrupt practices, describing them as “thieves and dacoits.”

Manna reminded the audience of the numerous individuals who have sacrificed their lives to secure the right to vote, underscoring the importance of protecting this fundamental right. He also called for strict punitive measures against police personnel involved in the killing of innocent people during protests against what he termed as the fascist Awami League government.

The event also featured a speech by the party’s central leader, Abdur Razzak Talukder, who served as the special guest, while Principal Matiar Rahman presided over the session.
