Dhaka: Police today recovered three crude bomb-like objects from the city’s Farmgate area. After receiving a call over the national emergency service number 999, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station recovered the objects in a black bag on the sidewalk in front of Anand Cinema Hall in the Farmgate area around 11:10 in the morning, a police press release said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bomb Disposal unit of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) rushed to the place of occurrence and defused the objects. The police press release added that the timely intervention of the bomb disposal unit ensured the safety of the area, preventing any potential harm.
