Sunamganj: Two people were killed and three others injured in a road accident in the Ahsanmara Bridge area under Shgantiganj upazila of the district this morning. The deceased have been identified as Jamir Hossain, 35, son of Golap Mia, and Ali Noor, 40, son of Firoz Ali, residents of Durlavpur village in Sunamganj Sadar upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred on the Sunamganj-Sylhet road when a bus collided head-on with a CNG-run auto rickshaw around 7 am, leaving five passengers injured. Officer-in-Charge of Joykal Highway Police Abdur Rashid Sarkar stated that critically injured Jamir and Ali Noor were rushed to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.
