Moralook: The two-day Moralook International Book Festival 2025 concluded today, celebrating a range of literary activities and discussions. “Megh Foundation” organized the festival in the Ambagan area, adjacent to Jahangirnagar University (JU), drawing literary enthusiasts and distinguished guests from various regions.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the festival’s first day featured a discussion session and a literary awards ceremony. Poet Monjurul Islam Megh, Executive Director of Megh Foundation, presided over the inauguration ceremony. Turkish poet and screenwriter Zeki Celik attended the event as the chief guest and was honored with the Moralook Literary Award 2025. During his speech, Zeki Celik discussed the art and literature of Turkey, while Bangladeshi poet Rinat Sultana explored various aspects of Bangladesh’s literary heritage.
Zeki Celik expressed his newfound appreciation for Bangladeshi art, culture, and literature, stating that attending the festival had been a valuable learning experience. He emphasized his intention to strengthen the connection between Bangladeshi literature and Ankara by translating valuable Bengali books into Turkish. The opening day also included poetry readings and international literary discussions.
The final day of the festival featured a discussion on children’s literature and a rhyming competition for students, held at Kisholoy Vidyapith. Speaking to BSS, Monjurul Islam Megh, Director of the Moralook International Book Festival, highlighted the importance of such events for the development of literature in Bangladesh. Special guests at the festival included Poet Saiful Sarnoet of Jahangirnagar University School and College, Poet Rinat Sultana, Poet Motiara Mukta, Poet and journalist Nazir Khan Liton, rhymer Tarek Monowar, Poet Ahomina Hritu, writer and journalist A.S.M Abdullah Al Maruf, and journalist Mazharul Haque Babu.
