Pitha Mela Enthralls Participants at Jhenaidah Youth Festival


Jhenaidah: A Pitha Mela, rally, and discussion were held at Government Keshab Chandra College here today, marking the Youth Festival. The principal of the college, Prof. Md. Abu Bakar Siddiqui, inaugurated the Pitha Mela and spring festival as the chief guest.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event commenced with a colorful rally that began from the college premises around 9am. The rally, which included participation from both teachers and students, traversed the city’s main roads before returning to the college campus. Following the rally, a discussion session was organized.



Assistant Professor of the Bangla Department Md. Idris Ali delivered the welcome speech, while Lecturer of the Zoology Department Alamgir Hussain moderated the session. Notable attendees included KC College Teachers’ Council Secretary Professor Md. Yunus Ali and Vice-Principal Professor Mohammad Abdul Matin, who were present as special guests.



The discussion featured Md. Imran Kabir, a lecturer from the political science department, as the main discussant. In addition, Saidur Rahman, member secretary of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Nusrat Jahan of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front, Abdullah Al Mamun, general secretary of Chhatra Odhikar Parishad, Shimul Al Masud, convener of Chhatra Dal, and SM Mahbub Islam, president of Chhatra Shibir, contributed to the discussions.



Numerous stalls were set up on the college premises, showcasing traditional pithas such as Chitai Pitha, Bhapapuli, and Katapakan, adding a touch of cultural heritage to the event.
