Habiganj: Police arrested Iman Ali, 23, former general secretary of the banned organization Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), from Snanghat village under Bahubal upazila. The arrest took place in the early hours as authorities acted on a case involving an attack on an anti-discrimination student movement in the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a joint force team conducted a raid in Snanghat village and apprehended Iman Ali at his residence last night. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bahubali Police Station, Zahidul Islam, confirmed the arrest, stating that Iman Ali is the son of Faruk Mia, who also resides in the same village.
Following the arrest, Iman Ali was transferred to Habiganj Sadar Police Station, as confirmed by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Alamgir Kabir. The police have stated that Iman Ali will be presented before the court at noon today.
