Religious Practice Purifies Hearts: Khalid

Pekua: Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain today emphasized the purifying effect of religious practice on individuals, stating that when one is engrossed in religious activities, their minds remain free from impurities. He made these remarks during the inauguration of the newly constructed Upazila Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre at Barbakia Bazar in Pekua Upazila.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khalid highlighted the correlation between the construction of mosques and the promotion of a crime-free society. He expressed that as more mosques are built, more Muslims will be encouraged to participate in prayers, which in turn keeps them away from misdeeds.

The Pekua Upazila Model Mosque, a three-storey structure, was constructed through a joint venture between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Islamic Foundation. This initiative is part of a larger project titled ‘Establishment of 560 model mosques and Islamic cultural centres in each district and upazila (2nd phase).’ So far, 300 model mosques and cultural centres have been inaugurated, with construction completed in six phases.
