Nepali and Chinese Officials Discuss Trade Facilitation Strategies


Lhasa: Director General of Commerce Department of Xinjiang Autonomous Region of China, Chen Jung, and Consul General of Nepal in Lhasa, Laxmi Prasad Niraula, held a meeting today at latter’s office. During the meeting, they discussed various issues including relations between the two countries as well as business, commerce, transit, trade fair, and trade facilitation committee meeting.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Consul General Niraula expressed gratitude for China’s continuous support to Nepal and emphasized the historic relations between the two countries. He conveyed his belief that such support from China will continue in the future.



Director General Chen commended the efforts of the Consulate General of Nepal in strengthening bilateral relations. He affirmed China’s readiness to support Nepal’s development and to enhance the bilateral relationship further.



Both sides agreed to bolster cooperation in trade, commerce, and transit sectors. They also committed to initiatives aimed at exporting Nepal’s agricultural products to China. Additionally, they discussed resolving issues at check points, developing physical infrastructures, exchanging visits, and participating in trade fairs and festivals in both countries. The meeting concluded with a focus on coordinated efforts for the welfare of people in both nations.
