Maoist Centre Postpones Tarai-Madhes Awakening Campaign Due to Political Situation

Kathmandu: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has postponed its ongoing ‘Maoist with People: Tarai-Madhes Awakening Campaign’. The decision was announced by the party’s Spokesperson, Agni Prasad Sapkota, who cited the current political situation in the country as the reason for the postponement.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Spokesperson Sapkota mentioned that further programs will be decided upon after discussions regarding the political climate and the campaign itself. The campaign has been temporarily halted to prioritize making the House businesses effective, focusing on issues such as people’s livelihood, nationality, and the drafting of crucial laws.

Sapkota further explained that the decision to postpone the campaign was influenced by the upcoming free student union elections at universities and the observance of festivals like Holi and Ramadan. The campaign is expected to resume after a brief pause.

The Maoist Centre had initiated the campaign in Jhapa two weeks ago and was planning to hold events in Parsa district on Sunday. Additionally, the party has called for a meeting of its central office-bearers on Sunday afternoon.
