‘Nepal, Committed to Women’s Empowerment’, Says Women Minister


New York: Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Nawal Kishore Sah Sudi has affirmed Nepal’s dedication to safeguarding women’s rights and fostering their empowerment. Currently in New York, USA, Minister Sudi is leading the Nepali delegation at the 69th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). He made these commitments during a ministerial roundtable at the United Nations Headquarters.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Sudi emphasized that Nepal is prepared to implement both national and international commitments. He stressed that the government prioritizes political rights, governance, education, employment, health, and other sectors to ensure women’s equality and development. Minister Sudi highlighted the country’s efforts through affirmative actions in politics, governance, education, and employment, as evidence of Nepal’s strong commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment. He also mentioned that Nepal is fully committed to eliminating violence against women and has strengthened its legal and policy framework to achieve this goal.
