Palpa: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, has clarified that the coalition government formed by the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) was a necessary response to the national crisis at the time. Speaking at a press meet organized by the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Palpa chapter, he emphasized that the coalition was an outcome of the prevailing circumstances which saw a stagnation in development activities, including economic progress.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Singh highlighted the proactive role of the Nepali Congress in crisis situations, pointing out that the alliance with UML was essential to navigate the country through its challenges. He remarked on the public’s anticipation for tangible results from the government, urging for less rhetoric and more action from the authorities.
In another context, Deputy Prime Minister Singh addressed concerns regarding the provision of additional facilities to former high-ranking officials, asserting that the government had no plans to offer such benefits. He also called for political unity to bolster the federal democratic republican system, dismissing discussions on monarchy despite the resurgence in royalist activities.
