Surkhet: The logo and mascot for the 10th National Games were unveiled on Tuesday, marking the countdown to the event scheduled to commence on May 17 in Surkhet, located in Karnali Province. The Chairman of the National Sports Council and Minister for Youth and Sports, Tejulal Chaudhary, officially released the logo, while Dhruba Acharya, the Council’s Vice Chairman, introduced the mascot during a ceremony held at the International Sports Complex in Satdobato, Lalitpur.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the event also saw the unveiling of a dedicated website for the 10th National Games by the Member Secretary of the Council, Tankalal Ghising. The logo is designed to encapsulate various elements, including the Karnali river, all seven provinces, sportspersons, as well as geographical features such as mountains, hills, and the Tarai region. It also features a pigeon, symbolizing peace. The mascot, on the other hand, is the Red Panda, an endangered species native to Karnali Province.
During the occasion, Minister Chaudhary expressed his appreciation for the ongoing preparations in Karnali aimed at hosting the 10th National Games. He called upon everyone to unite in ensuring the success of this national sports event and emphasized the importance of focusing on the broader interests of sports and athletes.
