Progressive Forces Urged to Unite Against Regressive Threats, Says Former PM Khanal

Kathmandu: Senior leader of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has called for the unification of progressive forces to counteract the proactive regressive elements emerging in the country. Khanal highlighted that these regressive forces have begun to challenge the political achievements gained from the nation’s extended political struggle, attributing this to certain weaknesses among the progressive forces.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Khanal made these remarks during a program organized by the Socialist Press Organization in remembrance of the victims of the Saurya Airlines plane crash. He emphasized that the country’s inability to achieve substantial social and economic transformation has provided an opening for regressive forces to question and undermine the hard-earned political milestones.

Khanal stressed the importance of progressive forces coming together to enhance development initiatives while simultaneously thwarting the regressive elements. He articulated that ensuring social justice, promoting equality, and advancing industrialization are crucial steps toward improving citizens’ livelihoods and achieving comprehensive social transformation.
